Jane's Project Ideas
From Jane: I hope we approach the work with an agreement that the best projects are driven by student inquiry. Here's what I propose:
After getting up to speed on the materials (using LOCs personal pd tool, whatever), we brainstorm some driving/burning/essential questions and attendant project scenarios or entry events. Then we imagine how those questions/scenarios/entry events might play out, instilling wonder in students and that need to know that drives their unique investigations. I'll try to whip up an example so this makes more sense. I even have a schematic in mind.
I work with the Buck Institute for Education these days and find without examples of carefully crafted projects it's hard for teachers to imagine giving the reins over to their students. We could accomplish something significant here.
